The high level meeting chaired by the Former Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan reviewed the proposed renewable Energy Policy 2019 here on Monday (28-10-2019).
Those who were present in the meeting were included: former Parliamentary Secretary for Energy; Mobin Khan Khilji, Former Special Assistant to Chief Minister; Ejaz Sanjrani, Mir Umair Muhammad Hassani, Ex. Additional Chief Secretary for Planning and Development Department; Abdul Rehman Buzdar, Ex. Secretary Energy Department, Sheryar Taj and other concerned high ups.
Mr. Sheryar Taj, Ex. Secretary Energy briefed the meeting about the salient features of the proposed renewable Energy Policy. He also informed about the prospects of production of the electricity through the alternative means. Addressing the meeting, the former Chief Minister said that the energy requirements of the province rather of the country can be fulfilled by utilizing the vast land and coast of the province. He said that Balochistan is blessed with immense natural resources. It’s a gift of God of us having full potential to meet the energy requirements of the province, he maintained. The Chief Minister stressed that we have to make process of production of energy easier and effective. He said that all the aspects of the proposed Energy Policy would be reviewed in detail.
Moreover, he said that solar, wind and bio gas are the cheaper and environment friendly sources of energy production. We can meet our required energy needs making these sources useable, he added. He mentioned that the projects of acquiring renewable energy have been included in the current financial year’s development programme. He said that we realize well that there is a dire need to meet the increasing requirements of energy in the country.
