Syed Firasat Shah

Mr. Syed Firasat Shah joins the Board of Directors of Balochistan Energy Company and brings over 35 years of diverse experience in the oil and gas industry. Currently working in Islamabad for MOL Oil and Gas Pakistan as the Advisor for Exploration and New Ventures, he also has served as Director Exploration with MOL Pakistan prior to his current role. He was the CEO of Balochistan Energy Company Limited until April 2022 following completion of a ten-year association with Pakistan Petroleum Limited as Deputy Managing Director in 2020. Mr. Shah serves as Member of the Board of Governors of Hydrocarbon Development Institute of Pakistan, as well as Member of the Board of Studies of the Department of Earth Sciences at Quaid i Azam University. He also has served previously on the board of Balochistan Mineral Exploration Company and Energy Board of Balochistan Province.
Mr. Shah is active in the Petroleum Club of Pakistan and serves as Vice President. Additionally, he is a part of the Pakistan Association of Petroleum Geoscientists and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists USA, he continues to collaborate and submit new research on various topics related to oil and gas exploration.
Mr. Shah has obtained a Masters of Science degree in Earth Sciences from Old Dominion University in Virginia, U.S.A. as well as a Masters of Science Degree in Geophysics from Quaid e Azaam University, Islamabad, Pakistan. He also has a Certificate in Project Management from the University of Edinburgh.
