Under the project titled “Special Development Initiative for Backward/Poor Districts in the Country (50:50)”, Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives; Planning Commission GoP approved the umbrella project “Solar Home System for Off-Grid Households of Balochistan” on Co-sharing basis with GoB according to the 80%-20% ratio respectively.

Balochistan Energy Company Limited has prepared the PC-I and pursued the approval from relevant forum of Government of Balochistan i.e. Planning & Development Department through PDWP 2024. After approval of PC-I from competent forum i.e. CDWP and ECNEC, the project would be executed by the BECL.
