Balochistan has tremendous potential for economic growth and socio-economic development. The province’s unique geography and demography, however, have constrained the realization of the province’s true growth potential. Ensuring the provision of basic public services to a small population that is scattered over a large territory is a herculean task, especially given the province’s weak fiscal base and huge development deficit accumulated over decades.
